Musicians enjoy world at their feet

Music from all over the world had audiences dancing for joy when street dance met classical music at an extra special concert.

Young People from Knowsley’s hugely popular Street Feet sessions teamed up with the renowned Royal Liverpool Philharmonic for the truly unique afternoon of entertainment at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.

The World At Our Feet concert saw dancers provide a wonderful visual accompaniment whilst the orchestra performed music from all over the globe. This included everything from ballroom dancing and an American hoedown to an Irish Riverdance and a traditional Chinese dance.

I have a Google Alert for all articles on the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir. I read this with interest. Your picture caption has the dancers from Knowsley WITH the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir but I can assure you the CHOIR WERE NOT THERE. I know this as I am a member of the choir. Please get your facts right.

Hi, RLPC Choir member. The caption was supplied by Knowsley Council, who organised the event. We'll look into it. Thanks for the information.

I am a teacher at Street Feet, it was not the Choir but the Philharmonic orchestra who we performed with, the event was about dance not singing. Regards

hello i am a member of street feet the boy standing at the front, this was an amazing experience and i enjoyed working with the orchestra. And i look forward to working with them again in the future. Regards

I was unfortunate enough not to be able to attend this event, but I have heard a lot of positive feedback from it. As a member of Street Feet I have to say that the work the group does is outstanding, and I have worked with the Philharmonic Orchestra in the past which was an amazing experience. I look forward to working with them again in the future, and I hope that viewers enjoy our work just as much as we enjoy creating it. Thanks :)

Rhythms of the world events allow you see how similar our cultures and dances really are.
