Fotographic Images are very pleased to be able to announce an exclusive "Raptor Day", featuring a minimum selection of eight pristine quality birds of prey.
The company has organised this event in conjunction with one of the most experienced and professional falconists from the North West of England.
Some of the birds being used may consist of English Barn Owl, English Buzzard, American Red Tail Hawk, Harris Hawk, African Spotted Eagle Owl, Royal Bengali Eagle Owl, 2 x Giant Eagle Owls (male and female), and an African White Faced Scopse Owl, which is a very rare and beautiful species.
The day will be held in a small private woodland enclosure with all amenities to hand (toilets and car parking). Refreshments and a packed lunch will be provided.
The main objective of putting this workshop together is to be able to provide you with the opportunity to photograph a selection of high quality birds of prey which you may otherwise find to be extremely difficult or in fact impossible. Throughout the day there will be no time limits placed on you. It will be a case of making sure that you are happy with the images you achieve.
Itinerary
Refreshments will be available upon arrival.
10.00 Welcome. Upon arrival you will be welcomed with a hot drink and a few words from John about the days events. We will also discuss any safety issues.
10.15 You will divide into two groups and each group will start photographing the birds allocated. It is our intention to provide each group with three different birds to work with before we break for lunch.
12.30 When you finish your morning shoot, a cold pre-packed lunch with a soft drink will be provided.
13.00 After your lunch you will resume taking pictures but with the alternative group of birds.
16.00 Assuming everyone has had sufficient time to capture the images they want, the afternoons session will wind up.
Following the closure of the days shoot and before you leave the grounds, you may wish to take a walk through the woods or go down to the waters edge. John will be able to advise you on the day as to where to go.
At the time of advertising this workshop, and owing to the recent outbreak of “Asian Bird Flue” DEFRA have placed restrictions on any bird activity’s involving flying. Should this restriction be lifted we will also provide a bird in flight session.
Suggested Equipment.
Film or digital cameras, both compact and DSLR are welcome.
Lens’s ranging from 20mm wide angle to medium/long telephoto.
Macro lenses may also be worth experimenting with.
Flash gun.
Tripod or Monopod.
Spare batteries, flash cards and or film. (there are no nearby shops)
Throughout the day, John will be on hand to organise and answer any questions you may have, to advise you about special techniques you may want to try out, or to organise a special shot which you may have in mind.
