Hair and beauty sessions and street dance are just two more free activities for young people to get involved in over the coming months.
The Safer Knowsley Partnership has again teamed up with M & H Academy to deliver the 12 week programmes.
Both sessions are completely free of charge, thanks to funding from Big Lottery Fund Fairshare Trust through Community Foundation for Merseyside and will be delivered in the Old School House, St Johns Road, Huyton.
Hair and beauty sessions will take place on Thursday evenings for 12 weeks, between 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm commencing on 16 October 2008.
Street dance sessions will take place on Friday evenings for 12 weeks, between 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm commencing on 17 October 2008.
If you’re aged between 11-16 years and want to know more, or to book your place, contact M & H Academy on 07804 939442 or 07763 021984. Places are limited to 30 per session, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Councillor Jackie Harris, Cabinent Member for Community Safety and Social Inclusion, commented “These activities will complement the football sessions already being delivered across the borough by M & H Academy. The activities have been introduced to ensure young people have something to do and somewhere to go with the ultimate aim of reducing incidents of anti-social behaviour across the borough. This really is a fantastic opportunity for young people and I would urge as many young people to take part in these exciting, and free, activities.”
In addition, M & H Academy is currently recruiting 5-a-side teams to play in a Sunday league in a portable soccer arena. The league will commence on Sunday, 13 October 2008 and run through to March 2009. The event will take place at The Sylvester Primary School, St Johns Road in Huyton.
