Born in Whiston in 1962, Councillor David Williams still lives in the town today.
The only Son of Len and Margaret Williams, he attended Halsnead Primary School and Higherside Secondary School in the Town.
After finishing school, David worked as a Chef in the Liverpool area, before taking on various roles in management and now works for the Co-operative Group of Companies.
Having been first introduced to politics by his parents, he was also a member of the successful ‘SaveOurBurnsUnit’ steering group. David was first appointed to Whiston Town Council in 2009 and was re-elected in 2011, representing Whitestone Ward.
David has held a keen interest in politics since the age of 18. He also has a range of other interests, including swimming, travelling, football, wildlife and their habitats, the environment and spending time with family and friends.
David’s Mother, Margaret Williams, has the privilege of being David’s Mayoress in 2011/12. Born in Wales, she moved to Whiston when she was six months old and has lived here ever since. She attended Halsnead Primary School and Seel Road Secondary School.
She worked as a Dinner Lady at Higherside School for many years and has interests in gardening and flowers.
