A group of 14 housing associations from across Merseyside have joined forces to take part in this year’s Liverpool Pride.
Staff and customers will help to carry the float along the route, showing their commitment to equality and diversity.
The 14 associations have joined up to form the Homes for Everyone group to take part in this year’s parade on August 6.
The group hopes that by taking part in Liverpool Pride it will give employees and customers the confidence to join the associations’ LGBT focus groups and forums and the confidence that they will be treated fairly and with respect no matter who they are.
“Pride brings into focus just how many people in the city celebrate diversity and I am proud to work in a sector that is committed to nurturing that. It’s been brilliant to be involved in developing this fabulous float for Pride.”
The theme for this year’s Pride is ‘Summer of Love’ and the Homes for Everyone float will be an eye catching zero carbon creation made by local company Hallangen Arts.
The march sets off from St Georges plateau at 12pm and snakes through Liverpool City Centre before ending at the main festival site at the Pier Head.
The 14 housing associations are:
Plus Dane Group Pierhead Housing
Wirral Partnership Homes Arena Homes
Knowsley Housing Trust Riverside
The Regenda Group Venture
Liverpool Mutual Homes South Liverpool Homes
Symphony Housing Group Helena Homes
Villages Housing Liverpool City Council
