Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) is helping residents take their first steps onto the property ladder with its first Rent to Buy scheme.
Five of the properties are part of the Rent to Buy scheme, which allows the residents to rent for the first three years and then gives the opportunity to buy the property outright or a percentage share.
One of the new Rent to Buy residents is Karen Tomkins, 46, who lives with her partner Darren White, 39, and five-year-old daughter Daisy.
She said: “Not only do I have a fantastic new home for my family but I also have the chance to buy a house, which I could not afford to do before.
“Now we have a great home, a lovely garden for Daisy to play in and a great close-knit community.”
Steve Heverin, KHT Operational Director of Investment, said: “We are very pleased to launch KHT’s first Rent to Buy scheme.
“It is a challenging time for families looking to buy their first home and many are finding it difficult to secure a mortgage or raise the deposit needed.
“Rent to Buy is a fantastic way of making home ownership accessible by removing the barriers that hold people back.”
