Two Year 11 students from Knowsley Park Centre for Learning in Prescot are celebrating a remarkable achievement of 100% school attendance.
Molly Scotland and Abigail Yates haven’t missed a day of school throughout primary and secondary school. In addition Molly’s continuous school attendance is 12 years, taking into account her excellent attendance in reception.
Molly and Abigail’s achievement is a great example to set to other pupils and supports the council’s ‘give school attendance 100%’ campaign.
Attendance is closely linked to attainment and future success in employment, so both girls have made an excellent start into their adult life. Having an excellent attendance record shows potential employers that a young person is reliable. It also leads to better achievement and self confidence.
Knowsley Park’s Acting Head Teacher, Mrs J Walker said “The two girls can be really proud of this excellent achievement. They are great role models for all our students and we wish them well in the future.”
Cllr Graham Wright, Cabinet Member for Children and Family Services, added “This is a fantastic achievement and something both girls and their families can be justifiably proud of. I’m sure that being committed to school will have a direct effect on their future life and prospects.”
