Liverpool Futsal Club have broken the Guinness World Record for the longest Futsal match at Knowsley’s new leisure and culture park.

The team played continuously for 36 hours and 31 minutes throughout Friday and Saturday (23 and 24 September), breaking the previous confirmed record of 32 hours and 20 minutes.
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced 5-a-side football game, played across the world and is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA.
Liverpool Futsal Club is one of the 24 FA National Futsal League clubs playing in the highest division in the UK.
As well as the world record attempt, the team were also raising funds for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal. The fund currently stands at £539, although the team are hoping to raise £1000.
This is the first of many appearances by Liverpool Futsal Club, who will be playing all their home national league games at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park on Longview Drive in Huyton.
Councillor Eddie Connor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Community and Culture commented “This was a fantastic achievement by Liverpool Futsal Club and I look forward to welcoming them at our new facility. I hope this latest world record attempt has encouraged more supporters and I wish them well as the season progresses.”
Ronnie Johnson from Liverpool Futsal Club added “We couldn’t have done this without the support we received, including Knowsley Council, spectators, witnesses and referees. The players should be very proud of themselves.
It was fitting that our attempt was successful at Knowsley’s new fantastic facility and we look forward to training and playing future matches there.”
