Do you feel like your fitness has slipped over the winter? Feel tired and run down?
Why not set yourself the target of taking part in this year’s Knowsley Active Challenge?
The event is on May 23 at Knowsley Hall so there is plenty of time to get fit beforehand.
The event includes a 3 and 8 kilometre walk, a 2 kilometre run for young children only and a 5 kilometre run for adults.
All are free to enter, apart from the 5 kilometre event for adults, which costs £7 per person.
All of the activities are wheelchair and pushchair friendly, apart from the 8 kilometre walk, which is suitable for keen walkers only.
The 2k run is for children in years 3 to 11 at school.
There will also be an “Olympic themed village” on the site where people can get information on other sports and activities in the area.
Cllr Eddie Connor, Knowsley’s cabinet member for Leisure, Community and Culture said: “This is a great event, set in the beautiful rural surroundings of Lord Derby’s estate.
“Anybody can take part, regardless of their ability. They can enter as a team, say, from their place of work, as a family or, this year, on their own.”
“We can all feel a bit jaded and unfit at this time of year, so this is a good time to start planning to get a bit more active.”
The event is organised by Knowsley Council and NHS Knowsley and the closing date for entries is May 16.
