Knowsley school needs your vote in their quest to win £5,000 to improve the musical experience for pupils.
St Mary and St Paul’s C of E Primary School, Prescot, is one of four finalists battling it out in the Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund competition, where the winners will be decided by a public vote.
The school want to use the funding to expand the music experience for their pupils, by extending their collection of instruments and offering specialist instrumental tuition.
The Lloyds Banking Group Community Fund aims to support local organisations throughout the UK who make a difference to young people.
Thousands of entries have been whittled down to just four finalists in each community across the country, and the two organisations who have the most votes in each community will win £5,000 each to support their project.
Neil Dixon, head teacher of St Mary and St Paul’s, commented,
“We have many pupils in our school who are musically gifted, and we want to encourage them to develop their talents.
“Winning the competition will enable us to do just that, allowing us to buy more instruments, and providing free, specialist tuition for our pupils.”
“We really need as many people to vote as possible to help us make our dreams a reality.”
The school were originally nominated by an employee of Lloyds Banking Group, recognising them as an organisation who deserved support and whose project would make a real difference. Following the nominations, the school submitted their funding bid which impressed the judges and was shortlisted.
