The work of the great Romantic artist Turner is on display in Knowsley from next month.
‘Travels with Turner’ is an exhibition of rarely seen prints, on loan from Manchester Metropolitan University Special Collections.
JMW Turner became known as 'the painter of light', because of his interest in brilliant colours in his landscapes and seascapes.
The display at Huyton Gallery provides a fascinating insight into the imagery and travels of this much loved English artist.
There will also be a range of fun, hands-on activities for schools and families to try out.
The exhibition runs at Huyton Gallery in Civic Way in Huyton from Monday 4 February to Saturday 1 June 2013.
It will be repeated at Kirkby Gallery from Monday 29 July to Saturday 16 November 2013, where there’ll be more new works too.
Huyton Library/ Gallery is open Monday and Friday: 9.15am to 5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9.15am to 7pm, Saturday: 10am to 1pm.
