Young people from Knowsley wanting a first foot on the career ladder are being invited to register during National Apprentice Week for this year’s Knowsley Apprentice recruitment drive.
For the sixth year Knowsley Council’s Apprenticeship team are on the hunt for young people in the borough for apprenticeship vacancies that will be advertised in June.
This week the team will be out and about promoting the opportunities on the Apprenticeship Bus, which will be in Huyton town centre on Thursday, March 14 from 9am – 12pm and outside the Halewood Centre from 1-4pm. By registering for the Knowsley Apprenticeship Programme candidates will receive a booklet with all the vacancies along with information about how to apply when they recruitment starts in June this year.
This year’s Knowsley Apprenticeships will include vacancies in engineering, accountancy, joinery, construction, customer service, web design, childcare and more. This week the success of some of the apprentices who have been through the Knowsley Apprentice Programme and similar local schemes will be celebrated at the first ever Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Awards.
The ceremony will take place tonight at St George’s Hall in Liverpool tonight and will recognise the achievements of young apprentices in the region along with local companies who have employed them.
