Dozens of new homes will be built in Knowsley with a funding boost of more than £800,000.
Knowsley Housing Trust, part of the First Ark Group, has secured £835,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency to build 59 new homes in the borough.
The funding has been awarded from the HCA’s 2013-16 Affordable Homes Guarantees Programme.
The homes will be a mix of two and three-bedroom houses, flats and bungalows, and will be available for affordable rent and shared ownership. Construction is planned to be completed by spring 2015.
Ian Thomson, KHT Executive Director of Asset Management, said: “This funding will allow us to provide much-needed new homes for Knowsley, helping to improve the choice and availability of properties in the borough.
“We look forward to working with partners in bringing these properties forward so that more people can have the chance of a future behind their own front door.”
KHT is also committed to building 262 new homes in the borough with £5.6m funding from the HCA’s 2011-2015 National Affordable Housing Programme.
