A “hugely supportive” St Helens woman has won the ‘Employer Engagement of the Year’ category at the Knowsley Community College Shine Awards 2013.
Ravenhead resident Liz Mercer, 60 - a Vocational and Essential Skills Co-ordinator at 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - was chosen for the honour by the College’s Employer Engagement Team.
The award recognises the outstanding support she offers to Community Health Services staff who work for the Trust – helping them to gain key qualifications in Cleaning Operations; Business Administration; Customer Service; Computing and Management.
College Principal Steve Logan presented Liz with her award, commending her as a “hugely supportive individual” who personally helps each learner from enrolment through to their final evaluation – ensuring a positive learner journey wherever possible.
“We really value the opportunity to work in partnership with the college’s Employer Engagement Team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality learning experience resulting in excellent outcomes for our staff.
‘I look forward to continuing to building on our successes to date and commend all the learners I have had the pleasure of supporting over the years on their commitment and hard work.”
The Shine Awards 2013 took place at the Huyton Suites on Civic Way and honoured the outstanding contributions of students and staff over the past 12 months.
The event was hosted by Radio City 96.7FM breakfast presenter, Simon Ross.
