Audiences are in for a real treat with an exciting and varied programme of entertainment this year at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park, one of the North West’s newest and most exciting performance spaces.
The centre, which opened in 2011, is quickly establishing itself as a fantastic and unusual venue for shows including concerts, plays, discos, sport and interactive children’s dramas. In fact the centre is increasingly attracting shows straight from the West End and bringing them to the North West for local audiences to enjoy!
One such show is Dinosaur Zoo, which calls in at Knowsley on Friday 14 March, following a stint on the West End, for its only North West date on a UK tour.
Using ingenious and scarily realistic puppets, the show brings audiences up close and personal with a range of creatures, from cute baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants! There’s even a chance for the bravest audience members to get on stage and help the ‘zoo keeper’ take care of the awesome reptiles.
Tickets are £12 for adults, £10 for children, or £40 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children).
Postman Pat: It’s Showtime is filled with hilarious twists and turns and singalong songs, guaranteed to captivate Pat’s fans, young and old!
Presented by Premier Stage Productions & Classic Media the show comes to Knowsley for one day only, with performances at 1pm and 3.30pm.
Tickets are £12 for adults, £10 for children or £40 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children).
Meanwhile, wrestling fans will love the non-stop action and entertainment on offer at the spectacular live American Wrestling Show on Saturday, March 29.
It’s enough to have you up in your seats, cheering the goodies and booing the baddies! There’s even the chance to meet some of the superstars and get your photo taken next to these wrestling giants.
Tickets are priced £10 for adults, £8 for children, or £34 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children).
Then, on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, there’s the chance to follow the yellow brick road to watch heartwarming classic, The Wizard of Oz.
The show is being brought to Knowsley by Trio Entertainment Ltd following a hugely successful summer season in Blackpool last year.
Join Dorothy and her friends the brainless Scarecrow, loveable Tin Man and cowardly Lion on their quest to thwart the evil powers of the Wicked Witch of the West and help Dorothy find her way home.
Packed with great songs, brilliant dance routines and plenty of laughter for all the family, the show promises to be one of the best in town this May!
Tickets are priced £10 for adults, £8 for children and concessions.
For even more nostalgia, there’s wartime comedy Bless ‘em All! to look forward to on Saturday, June 14.
Presented by Duggie Chapman Associates, Bless ‘em All! is a bright and breezy wartime revue, featuring favorite songs from Vera Lynn, Al Jolson, George Formby and Gracie Fields.
With full supporting cast of singers and the live music of the Martyn St James Band, Bless ‘em All! is a tribute to all our armed forces – from yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Tickets are £12, or £10 concessions.
