Residents are being given a chance to view plans for a potential new development offering cycling and BMX facilities in Knowsley.
Come along to view and comment on the plans, meet the architects and talk to British Cycling officers, regarding the proposed facilities at an event being held on Tuesday, 19 October 2010. Call in any time between 12.00 pm and 6.00 pm at 79 Longview Drive, Huyton (formerly Sayers on the shopping Parade).
The proposed facilities would be funded by British Cycling, Sport England and NHS Knowsley.
It is intended that these facilities would be constructed on the Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park site on Longview Drive, as Phase II of this development.
Work has already commenced on this site to create an OurPlace youth facility and a new leisure centre, including swimming pools, state of the art health and fitness suite, spa facilities, a multi-purpose sports court as well as adult day care services.
Huyton Arts and Sports College, offering leisure and community facilities, is also located on this site.
This proposed new development will include:
- A 400m cycling velodrome
- A National Standard BMX track, with a Pump track
- The opportunity for Knowsley to create a new cycling club
This event will provide an opportunity to view the proposals and provide feedback.
