This was the fourth 1-1 draw in the four visits that Prescot have made to Harrison Park in the UniBond League but it took a last minute goal by the home side to keep that record going.
A dry bumpy pitch resulted in some poor quality football during the game with the highlights in the first half for Prescot being a header from Karl Connolly which the keeper saved on 21 minutes and a curling shot from Dean Thurston that shaved the wrong side of the post on 39 minutes.
At the other end, Ryan McMahon made two fine saves to keep out a header from Carl Rendell on 16 minutes and a snap-shot from Steve Brannan on 32 minutes that saw the game goalless at half-time.
Four minutes into the second half Karl Connolly headed the ball into the path of Steve McEwan who blasted it the bar. McEwan made amends two minutes later when he drove a low left foot shot into the corner of the net to give Prescot the lead.
On 65 minutes Eammon Price turned his marker and glided past another defender before thundering a shot against the bar and the difficult bounce of the ball from the rebound resulted in Stephen Johnson heading it just wide. A goal at that stage would have wrapped the game up for Prescot.
Leek pressed forward in search of something from the game but found McMahon totally commanding in his area. Unfortunately the Prescot defence switched off in the final minute and the home side grabbed a last gasp equaliser when Alan Nagington toe-poked a long throw-in into the net.
Prescot round off their season with a home game against Lincoln United in the UniBond Premier Division on Saturday. Kick off at Valerie Park is 3.00pm.
