Merseyside councils have joined forces to deliver an advertising campaign to encourage residents to make their mark and vote at this year’s local election on May 3.
All five councils are raising awareness of the elections by using an ad van to tour the region to help make sure as many residents as possible use their vote.
Merseyside residents who are registered to vote will have received their polling cards with details of where to vote locally. Postal voters who have registered will shortly receive their ballot pack.
Polling stations throughout Merseyside are open from 7am until 10pm for residents to cast their votes.
Local elections are your chance to have your say and elect councillors to work for the good of your community by making decisions on issues that affect your life.
Election officers from Knowsley- Cheryl Ryder, Liverpool – Stephen Barker, St Helens – John Welsh, Sefton – Neil Middlehurst and Wirral – Lesley Hayes are raising awareness for residents to vote in this year’s local elections.
I have voted again this year, but the most disturbing aspect for me was that for both Labour and the Lib dems it seems that whole families are standing for election in the borough and when they are standing the persons nominating and seconding are family members. would this not be classed as nepotism anywhere else?
