The ways in which children and young people are being protected from harm in Knowsley are outlined in a key report.
Addressing issues such as bullying, road safety and child abuse is the responsibility of Knowsley Safeguarding Children Board (KSCB) which has just published its first annual report.
The task of the board is to ensure that all those organisations which provide services for children and young people have the correct policies in place to protect them and that staff have appropriate training. It also works to raise awareness about matters of concern to young people, such as safe surfing of the internet.
Damian Allen, Chair of Knowsley Safeguarding Children Board said: “The Board wants to make sure that children and young people in the borough enjoy life and achieve their potential while remaining safe and protected from harm, whether it be at school, in the community or at home.
“This report sets out the ways in which the Board has addressed this over the past year and its priorities for the coming three years.”
Copies of the Annual Report can be viewed in Knowsley Council buildings such as One-Stop-Shops and libraries or on the KSCB website: www.knowsleysafeguardingchildren.co.uk. A copy can be requested by e-mailing knowsleysaf[email protected] or phoning 0151 443 4311.
