Prescot and Merseyside’s rich history within the Clock and Watch Making industry is being celebrated at Prescot Museum during the next few months.
In conjunction with the Antiquarian Horological Society, Knowsley Museum Service is proud to present Lost Time.
The exhibition, from February 01st - April 16th, draws on fine examples of chronometers from collectors around the globe as well as showcasing items on loan from the British Museum and National Maritime Museum.
From long case clocks to boxed deck watches to the ornate detail of pocket watches, this exhibition offers a fantastic opportunity to view some of the finest examples of the clock and watchmakers art under one roof.
Highlights of the exhibition include two chronometers by the famous manufacturer Thomas Mudge, Mudge Green and Mudge Blue, seen together for the first time since they were built in the late 18th century.
Prescot Museum can be found on Church Street in Prescot and is open Tuesday to Saturday 10-1 and 2-5 and Sundays 2-5.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.
