Knowsley Council is urging small businesses to check that they are receiving all of the help that they are entitled to.
Firms and traders with small premises may be eligible for a relief that can reduce their Business Rates by as much as half of their bill.
In a drive to support businesses during the economic downturn, Knowsley has had a 26% increase in the number of companies receiving small business rates relief since April.
However, it is thought there are more businesses who qualify who haven’t applied.
Councillor Norman Keats, the Cabinet Member for Finance and Information Technology said “We want to encourage all small businesses in Knowsley to contact us, as they may be entitled to this reduction. It is particularly important during these challenging times that all of our customers receive all help available, and we are committed to making sure this happens”.
Cllr Graham Morgan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills, said: “We recognise that these are difficult times financially for many local businesses and that is why we want to make sure they take advantage of all the help that is available. Knowsley Council is fully committed to supporting our local businesses.”
Knowsley businesses should contact 0151 443 4069 or email [email protected].
