Des McConaghy

Dear Cllr O'Hare PERSONAL

I feel sure you knew, and therefore will have admired, my late friend Frank Masters. Frank was my mentor and support for many years as we attempted to promote a nation wide voluntary "Area Information Service". I miss Frank (and of course his wife died before him)and I've lost touch with his son - who lived in Merseyside. But several times Frank mentioned an idea he nurtured to publish his written memories. These, he told me, will have included not only his experience of local government but also his very interesting WWII adventures in France,India (and even Tibet)! So I wonder if you or your Council Librarian has access to this as yet unpublished material and has ever considered celebrating Frank's great service by encouraging their publication?Best regards Des McConaghy
